With all the hoopla surrounding American Idol over the last week, I think it's safe to say there’ll be a large viewer turnout when the top 12 boys perform tonight. American's will finally have their say, and hopefully we can avoid another "Josiah Leming situation." It’s going to be an exciting three nights! 8PM, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, FOX.



PS: Josiah was on The Ellen Degeneres Show today, and after watching it I'm even madder that he didn't make it into the top 24! He received a marvelous reception from the studio audience, a standing ovation after a killer performance of his audition song "To Run," and by the end of the segment he even had Ellen tearing up. Will somebody just give this kid a record deal and get it over with!?

Hello Lovers!

There are only a few months left until the most anticipated reunion to hit the box office in years. And when it comes to bringing the fashion to the Big Screen, "The whole world knows these four characters, so you can't fake it," say's stylist Patricia Field. So, for the few people who haven't seen any of the production photos plastered all over the media, here's what you can expect to see: Samantha will be "bigger and bolder," and Charlotte's conservative couture is getting a more mature "Jackie O" style makeover. As for the shoes, there’ll be plenty of Manolo's and Louboutin's, of course.

Dancing Downer

I was so excited when I heard the rumor that Sean Hayes was going to be a contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, even though I'm not a fan of the show. But the lineup has been revealed, and Sean is not on it. I'm so sad. Just the thought of seeing his face again, week after week, thrilled me! Not to mention the fact that he's a wicked talented dancer and would have been the best entertainment that show has ever seen!

What They Love

Stars just couldn't get enough of white coats with black oversized buttons this winter.


Jessica Alba was a big fan of her Derek Lam for Tods camel colored coat. She recently wore it all over New York City.


And I'm hearing bright "flower power" colors will be in this spring, and these popular turquoise glasses may be the perfect accessory!

President's Day!!

Lipstick Mafia

There are now two Sex and the City esque shows on television. Cashmere Mafia, from the producers of SATC, and Lipstick Jungle, from the creator of SATC. So, which is the better of the two to help fill the void left by Carrie and the girls? It may be too early to tell.

But I must admit, I am hooked on Cashmere Mafia. It took a couple of episodes, but I’m hooked. I love Lucy Liu’s character, Mia Mason. She’s so cute and her wardrobe is to die for (but that’s all thanks to Pat Field)! I also love Caitlin, her personal discoveries are fresh and entertaining. There are actually thing’s I like about each of the four girls, and I think things are only going to improve as the season continues.


As for Lipstick Jungle, I’m not as enthusiastic about it as I thought I’d be. Or as I was told I would be. It has potential, there’s no doubt about that. And whoever decided to cast Brooke Shields and Pretty in Pink star Andrew McCarthy in the same show is genius!


The highlight of Thursday night's episode was Victory Ford's deceptive design assistant, played by the star of Broadway's Xanadu, Kerry Butler, pictured below.

The Adventure Continues

Today, Yahoo! is giving users their "First Peek" at the new Indiana Jones trailer, and I nearly fell off my chair when I saw it. It looks wonderful! You can watch it below:


I can't wait to throw on a fedora, brown leather jacket, and take my whip to the theater on May 22nd!

American Idol's Big Mistake

For the most part I was happy with the judges choices for the American Idol Top 24, but they made one BIG mistake... passing on Josiah Leming, who was my favorite from the beginning. This kid has raw talent. I'm shocked he didn't make it through. And I had just read an article proclaiming him an "early winner," but sadly the judges didn't feel that way.

So if you get the chance, please give this kid a listen. He has several videos on youtube and they're brilliant! Plus, he writes all his songs himself. Click HERE to be directed to my favorite, "Bad News Baby."



With that said, my favorite contestants include:

Danny Norriega. An 18-year-old from California with a great fashion sense, and who loves Britney Spears (sounds like my kind of guy).


Brooke White. She was featured on the premiere episode, in Philly, and has been one of my favorites ever since!


David Archuleta. An adorable 17-year-old with a very mature voice.


Kristy Lee Cook. She was another one of my favorites from the premiere episode. And guess who her favorite male artist is? Justin Timberlake! Yet another contestant I have something in common with.


Ramiele Macrowon. The tiny little 20-year-old with the big voice and awesome style! And she also likes Mr. JT.



There are several other contestants I like, but as for now these five are my favorites.

Well, only hours after I sung the praises of American Idol semi-finalist Josiah Leming and prematurely cleared a space for his voting number on my speed-dial (sorry, Mom, I'll re-program your number later), I've been hit with the shocking news that this favorite contestant of mine did not make it through to the final 24.

I'm about to cry on cue--just like Josiah himself!

Seriously, despite Josiah's barely-standing version of "Stand By Me" last night, I stood by him. I definitely still thought he was worthy of a spot among the the 12 final boys. And my respect for him only grew when I checked out his MySpace page and discovered that his influences included cool, credible Britpop bands like Radiohead, Travis, Blur, Echo & the Bunnymen, Oasis, Supergrass, and Keane (not to mention Mika, the U.K songwriter he covered on last night's show).

I honestly can't believe a Brit like Simon Cowell let a promising young Anglophile like Josiah slip away. Blimey!

Well, until the Idol powers-that-be reinstate the "wild card" policy that once gave ousted Idol semi-finalists like Clay Aiken a second chance, I encourage all my fellow Lemingheads to petition on the message board below, begging Simon, Randy, and Paula to give poor Josiah another shot. Or at least encourage Idol sponsor Ford Motors give the boy a new Focus or something, so he has a nicer, newer car to sleep in.

The British Oscars

The 2008 BAFTA Awards were held this past Sunday, and some of the winners were quite surprising. Unfortunately, I was only able to watch the red carpet, but from what I've read, Atonement won Best Picture and Marion Cotillard won Best Actress. Obviously, Daniel Day-Lewis continued his winning streak with the award for Best Actor, while my favorite movie (so far) of the awards season, No Country For Old Men, won for Best Director and Best Supporting Actor! I was extremely excited when I saw Daniel Radcliffe there. He's so bloody cute, I can't even stand it! And he gave an excellent statement, in an interview with Ryan Seacrest, when asked how he's been able to balance his success better than most young actors. He said, "In England you're treated as a kid first and an actor second, and in America I think you're probably more treated as an actor first then a kid second. And it screws up your priorities I think a little bit." That's so true, kids in Hollywood are always put under so much career pressure.

It's All Over

After three months, the writers strike is officially over and the writers are already back to work. Thank God. Bring on the Oscars!!!

Potomac Primary Night

The “Potomac” primaries, named for the river that separates Virginia and Maryland, are tonight! Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia will vote and the results could answer key questions in the Democratic and Republican nomination races. The Obama campaign shows no signs of slowing down, while Huckabee marches on despite the odds. It’s going to be an interesting night.

Update: Obama, McCain win VA, MD, and DC. And for the first time, Obama is leading Clinton in delegates and has now won eight contests in a row!!!

Chick-Lit On Film

Here's the first picture of Isla Fisher (and daughter Olive) on the set of her new movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Based on the book by Sophie Kinsella. I think this will be a really cute movie. However, I was not happy to hear that it will be Americanized. In my opinion, Becky Bloomwood MUST be British! This is an outrage!

A Report You Won't See In The Tabloids

Britney Spears is working hard to find herself again, and I couldn't be more thrilled! Words cannot express how hard I've been routing for her! After a week-long hospital stay, Britney's family have come back into her life and are helping her find her peace of mind. For the past week Brit Brit has been laying low, dancing at Millennium Dance Complex, and spending some much needed time home at The Summit.

Earlier this week, hairstylist Kim Vo went to Brit's house to give her a makeover, and had nothing but nice things to say about the pop star. He said she was getting along with her mom, chatting with little sister Jamie Lynn on the phone, and a "true southern woman." And just last night, Britney taught a dance class at Millennium of about eight LA area kids (ages 4-9). Robert Baker, the director of the complex, told People magazine, "The class was amazing," and "She asked to please teach a class tomorrow." And according to several of the kid’s parents, "The kids loved it!"

I see nothing but good thing’s in Britney’s future, and I know two people who will be happier then anyone else:



Update: Britney taught her second dance class on Tuesday, and Usmagazine scored an interview with one of the students and her mother. You can read it below:

"I got a call at 5 p.m. [Monday] saying that Britney was teaching a dancing class at 6 p.m. and that Gigi should come," mom Grace told Us yesterday afternoon after Spears' second class.

"So we rush down here and when we arrived, we were ushered to the back. There were photographers on the balconies — it was crazy!"

When they arrived, they immediately spotted Spears, who was "dressed in tiny black shorts with a pink top and black boots," said mom Grace.

Added daughter Gigi, "[Britney] came up and gave me a big hug. She hugged me three times last night! She was so nice. I brought her a chocolate Valentine rose. She said thank you and put it in her bag."

Daughter Gigi said they danced to Madonna's "Material Girl."

"Britney was very into it and personally made sure every kid was having a great time," mom Grace said.

As the students left the room, Spears "told us that she appreciates us coming and she hopes we come again," mom Grace said.

Added daughter Gigi: "She hugged me again. When I got home, I cried in bed because I was so happy."

They returned Tuesday for a second session.

"We showed up, and she was wearing Cheetah shorts and looked so healthy and beautiful," the student's mother, Grace, told Us. "Her butt was hanging out."

Despite the fashion slip-up, daughter Gigi said Spears was still in control.

"We danced, and she hugged me again. I gave her my phone number on a Valentine card and she said thank you," Gigi said.

Spears, mom Grace said, "welled up with tears and said that she really appreciated it."

When asked if she thought Spears is "a good mommy," daughter Gigi emphatically told Us, "Yes!"

Mom Grace told Us she wasn't uneasy leaving her daughter under Spears' guidance.

"I have never seen my daughter so happy!" mom Grace told Us. "She is learning some dance moves too that she was doing all last night.

"She was so excited to show them to Britney today and told her that she practiced for her. Britney said, 'Awwww!'"

Spears, added mom Grace, "is young and made some mistakes. It is obvious that she loves kids very much and that she is great with children. I will bring my daughter to every one of her classes."

My Grammy Favorite Moment(s)

Did anyone else think Sunday night's Grammy Awards were the best ever? They pulled out all the stops for the 50th anniversary and I really enjoyed the show.

First came Carrie Underwood, who was joined by Stomp inspired backup dancers for her performance of "Before He Cheats." Next, was a great "Umbrella" medley by Rihanna, who wore an awesome dress! Then came The Beatles Circ De Soleil/Across The Universe tribute which was fantastic! By the time Beyonce' and Tina Turner took the stage I was on my feet dancin' before you could say "Proud Mary." And those ladies were hot! Surprisingly, the most emotional part of the night came from Kanye West, who sang/rapped a tribute to his mom (who recently passed away) that had me in tears. I also loved Alicia Keys & John Mayor's collaboration on "No One," Josh Groban & Andrea Bocelli's duet of "The Prayer," and Will.I.Am.'s "Record of the Year Mash Up." And of course, I waited all night to hear "Rehab," and Amy Winehouse did not disapoint.









Now, Let's talk about the red carpet:

I think Carrie Underwood was the best dressed of the night. She wore a floral halter dress by Zuhair Murad, and accessorized with a Mary Norton clutch.


The always beautiful and always stylish Rihanna rocked a dress by one of my favorite designers, Zac Posen, complete with ruffles and feathers.


And Natasha Bedingfield looked lovely in a purple jewel-toned gown by Reem Acra.



And congratulations go out to a long list of my favorite 2008 Grammy Winners: Justin Timberlake, Barack Obama, Carrie Underwood, The Spring Awakening OBC, Jim Dale & Harry Potter, Maroon 5, Madonna, and Michael Buble'.

Here We Go Again

As I'm sure you know by now, the movie-musical of 2008 is... MAMMA MIA! Now, I'll admit I've never had much interest in the Broadway show, but the movie looks great and the cast is excellent! With Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and Amanda Seyfied (from HBO's Big Love) you can't go wrong. The trailer premiered in December, but I'm going to post a link for those of you who haven't seen it. Click HERE to check it out!

On The Catwalk

Here are some more highlights from New York Fashion Week! First, I'd like to start out with my favorite model, Aygness Deyn, on the runway for Ruffian:


The ensemble below, by Obedient Daughters, looks like something Katie Holmes would wear. Though I'm sure she would swap the boots for flats.


I love this little black dress by Diane Von Furstenberg! Very classy...


Pictured below is my favorite by far! This outfit, by DKNY, looks just like something Carrie Bradshaw would wear (specifically, on the Sex and the City two-part finale).


This masculine pantsuit, by Charles Nolan, looks a little victorian-esque.


I like this unusual ADAM vest and find it very office appropriate, say at RUNWAY or MODE magazine!


Last, but not least, is this hip new twist on the little black dress by Abaete!


And guess who was spotted working at the Sass and Bide show? Whitney Port, from The Hills! So I think it's safe to say she's still working hard in the fashion industry.
