Today, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that four major studios (20th Century Fox Television, CBS Paramount Network Television, NBC Universal and Warner Bros. Television) have canceled dozens of writers' contracts in a possible concession that the current television season cannot be saved. And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, this decision may also endanger next season's shows as well. This is bad, really, really bad!
But out of the darkness comes the light, of American Idol! The two-hour season 7 premiere starts tonight at 8pm, on FOX. Now, Idol has continuously been the No. 1 show on television, but can you imagine how high it's ratings will be when it has absolutely no one to compete with? And, Idol is going back to it's original format, meaning more emphasis on the contestants and less celebrity guests, not to mention the introduction of instruments. This is going to be one great season!!!
