Passing Strange Goes "Blonde"

Passing Strange, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite musicals that I've never seen, may pull a "Legally Blonde." Snaps! Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Academy Award nominee Spike Lee will film the new Broadway musical and it will likely be aired on cable television.


On one hand, that's awesome, because I'll be able to see it and it'll be preserved to watch over-and-over again. On the other hand, I doubt any basic cable network is going to air the raunchy provocativeness that is the Tony-winning musical. Picture a version of RENT airing on NBC... it just wouldn't work. So, it'll have to be aired on premium cable, meaning, if it's not on HBO then I'm out of luck. I don't have a subscription to Cinemax or Showtime.
