Let me get straight to the point: Fashion (on the red carpet at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards)! Most of the women, and a few men, got it right. While some, on the other hand, got it very wrong. Here's a breakdown:
Tom Cruise took his leading man status to another level with this suit.
He looked so handsome, so dapper, and I really appreciated the classic Hollywood look.
Eva Mendes looked lovely in a white Dior gown.
Salma Hayek showed off her curves in a dress by Bottega Veneta.
Kate Beckinsale wore a stunning, whimsical gown by J. Mendel.
Amy Adams looked glamorous in a black gown by Oscar de la Renta.
Evan Rachel Wood wore a similar style, but with an edge. Her Elie Saab dress by was amazing; especially the long straps in the back!
Other women made statements in a variety of colors. And purple was a popular one. Hayden Panettiere wore a futuristic dress made by Gianfranco Ferre.
It was a bit too tight in the bust, but I love the little knot in the back.
Miss Golden Globe herself, Rumer Willis, also wore purple. And I thought the dress, by Reem Acra, was very cutting-edge.
Rumer may not have been the right person to pull it off, but I liked it a lot.
For her first time at the Globes, Freida Pinto wore a dress by Christian Lacroix, and she looked gorgeous (although a lot of people seem to disagree).
Eva Longoria was one of the best dressed, if not the best dressed woman of the night. Her red dress, by Reem Acra, was sexy and elegant at the same time.
And, as for the couple's, they were nothing short of stunning. Leonardo DiCaprio looked debonair in a classic black suit, while Kate Winslet looked beautiful in a black gown by Yves St. Laurent.
And Hollywood's golden couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, looked picture perfect as always. Brad rocked the bow tie, and Angelina (who I think would look flawless even if she wore a paper bag) looked beautiful in an Atelier Versace gown.
So, who do I think looked the worst? That penalty goes to Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera.
Need I say more?
