A source close to the couple told PEOPLE that the two "broke up over the holidays and have ended their engagement," and that "they're both really sad about this."
I'm really surprised! The last time I saw Jennifer (a few weeks ago on The Bonnie Hunt Show) she seemed really happy and excited about the wedding. And, she seemed to have a deep love for Ross. She always talked about him on her press appearances.
I guess some things just weren't meant to be... I hope 2009 brings Jennifer something new to be happy about!
