There's A Little Bit Of Broadway In Everyone

It was announced today, that American Idol Season 5 winner, Taylor Hicks, will make his Broadway debut when he joins the cast of Grease in the role of "Teen Angel" on Friday, June 6. Congrats Taylor! The Soul Patrol's gonna invade Broadway!


I also found out today, that Shrek The Musical starts previews on Nov. 8th, and opening night is Dec. 12th. It'll be interesting to see how they pull this one off.

This past Tuesday, like a lot of people, I was up at 8:30 a.m. watching The Early Show to hear the 2008 Tony nominations. And, the nominees for Best New Musical are:





It was a surprise that Cry-Baby got a nomination (taking the spot that should have went to Young Frankenstein). Xanadu may be the favorite, but, we all know that it's going to come down to In The Heights and Passing Strange. My vote: In The Heights, of course! The 62nd annual Tony Awards will air on CBS, Sunday, June 15 at 8/7c, live from Radio City Music Hall.
