I went to the theater to see MILK last night. It's the story of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man to hold national office as a Representative in San Francisco. And, the film is one of the 5 Oscar nominated films for Best Picture.
I thought it was quiet moving. A champion for civil rights and equality. It even made me think of another politician, one whose recent movement shared the theme of the movement in the movie, 'hope.'
Sean Penn did a great job. So did the supporting cast.
My only complaint is that Josh Brolin isn't in it enough. He could have made his character, Dan White, so much more complicated and tense if he would have been given a little more screen time.
