Crikey!

On September 4th, two years ago, Steve Irwin was fatally pierced by a stingray barb near Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

Steve (a.k.a. "The Crocodile Hunter") was an iconic Australian television personality, conservationist, wildlife expert and co-owner of the Australia Zoo. He was driven, passionate, energized and enthusiastic! You rarely saw him down or defeated, he pushed on and stayed positive even when it hurt. He dedicated his entire life to those he loved most, his family, friends and animals. And, it's people like him who make this world a better place and inspire others to do so too.

His wife, Terri, two children, Bindi and Bob, and countless Wildlife Warriors across the globe carry on his legacy.

Wildlife Warriors Worldwide Ltd was established in 2002, initially by Steve and Terri Irwin, as a way to include and involve other caring people to support the protection of injured, threatened or endangered wildlife – from the individual animal to an entire species.

Steve Irwin epitomised the Wildlife Warrior because he was the original; he created the term. The organisation is based on the very ideals of Steve Irwin and they will live in the hearts, the consciousness and in the daily lives of the Wildlife Warriors team as they share his dream of conservation and strive to make it a reality.
